MK-47 Project

Flash Application, 2006

The MK 47 was a project for United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) which was part of a series to create operational, maintenance and troubleshooting information in an interactive format. These projects gave guided video instructions for all critical aspects of the weapons. Extensive photography was used to document features and processes. The user is guided by a voice-over for each step. The user is tested with a ‘drag and drop’ quiz at the end of each section. mk47 Working in a team of three people, myself as the lead, we first developed detailed storyboards. Once approved. We captured all video, on-site photography and audio needed for the project and created a CD-based Flash application using Actionscript to present the material. The MK-47 was an enormous undertaking completed in short time frame. The additional challenge was that I also had to stand-up a multimedia division in the Indiana office near Crane Naval Base where none had existed. I was responsible for determining all audio, video, photography and computer equipment and software that was needed to complete this task while developing the storyboards. I also trained the two employees working on the project in the software and hardware that was being used as we were building the application.
